About the Event

The Bay Area JK Dialogue Group and The Ojai Retreat Cultural Center are pleased to announce an online Book Study led by Prof. P. Krishna on "Can the Mind Be Quiet?". Each of the book’s sixty chapters reflects an encounter Krishnamurti had at different times during the 1960s and 1970s. The chapters open with a poetic account of the location where the encounter took place, sometimes including a description of the seeker Krishnamurti met. The dialogue then unfolds between the seeker and the teacher, offering the reader much to reflect upon.

PROF. KRISHNA  is a Fellow of the Indian National Science Academy and a Trustee of the Krishnamurti Foundation of India. Prof. Krishna has made significant contributions to both the scientific and the Krishnamurti communities. He is also a lifelong member of the Theosophical Society. In 2015, he published a memoir titled "A Jewel on a Silver Platter: Remembering J. Krishnamurti," which was self-published on www.lulu.com and released in India by Pilgrims, Varanasi.

This study consists of eight 1.5-hour zoom sessions, each session involving a reading assignment from the book prior to the meeting. Prof. Krishna will start each session with a summary of the chapters covered, followed by a Q&A session.
